I provide music therapy services to a wide variety of clientele in Colorado Springs and the surrounding area. As a board-certified music therapist, I hold a master’s degree in music therapy from the University of Kansas (Master of Music Education, Music Therapy Graduate Equivalency). KU was the first university in the U.S. to offer a graduate degree in music therapy. Today, their program continues to be internationally recognized for quality education and research. In February 2002, I received additional training in Neurologic Music Therapy at the Center for Biomedical Research in Music at Colorado State University.

As a music therapy provider, I travel to homes, schools, rehabilitation clinics, and medical facilities to work with children and adults with autism, Rett’s Syndrome, sensory integration dysfunction, speech & language delays, developmental delays, Fragile X, and Down Syndrome. In addition to working with special needs children and adults, I provide services for patients with dementia, cancer, and other terminal illnesses. I also provide consultation services, presentations, and in-services for support staff and professionals.

I utilize a variety of music therapy techniques according to client needs. Active participation in structured musical applications assists clients in meeting non-musical objectives. Musical objectives may be implemented if they support a non-musical goal.
